The succession of Incan ruins, villages and the surrounding scenery make the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the Cusco region, one of the most beautiful places of the archeological Peru. In ancient times, it was the former protection place for the attacks to Cusco, as well as an agricultural zone to “feed” Cusco.
Nowadays it’s a must-do visitation because of the great archeological complexes and the great weather.
A complete tour to the Valley consists of visiting Ollantaytambo, P...
The best days to take the tour are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, when the amazing Pisac Market is open.
Usually the entrance fees to the ruins and the meals are not included in the tour prices.
It’s advisable to take the
Sacred Valley tour with an agency, because the 170 km in length may be confusing for foreigners to take by themselves. The Pisac ruins visitation is not included in the group-tours – US$25 (only the Pisac Market is). So, if you want to visit these ruins too, you should take a private tour – US$70.
If you think 1 day is not enough for the whole visitation, try to leave Pisac ruins and market for a second day, always departing from Cusco.
